Escape Rope seemingly affects the opponent's timer

My opponent used an escape rope, and then we both switched pokemon, after that, she did not do anything for like 10 seconds, and those 10 seconds were being reduced from my timer instead of hers. As soon as she played the next card, the timer started running normally, but those 10 seconds were still reduced from my timer. When she ended her turn, I drew a card and then my turn ended immediately, without me doing anything at all
