Lunacur Wars, chapter 1

Chapter 1:

It was a few months after that fateful encounter with Birb when Rio and Rogue were walking down a path, chatting and laughing about something they had just seen. Before they could say another word, however, a loud "BOOM" came from the distance. "What was that?" Rio asked. "Not sure," Rogue replied, "Let's head back home." Rogue watched as, instead of choosing to listen to her, Rio sprinted off down the path TOWARDS the noise. Rogue sighed and ran after him. As soon as they made it to where the noise had come from, Rogue stopped short and she saw a Geodude lying sick on the ground; she knew it likely wouldn't last the night, but she could save it if she figured out what had hurt it. "What happened?" She asked. "That way," the Geodude grunted out, pointing north, "It went that way." "Yoou stay here Rio," she said, "No arguing, just make sure he stays alive." Rio nodded as Rogue took off sprinting down the path. When Rogue passed a fight between two Pokemon, she stopped and ran over, to see that one of them looked like the Fletching Rio had described to her. "Hey!" She called over, "Are you Birb?" "Yes!" He replied whilst fighting, "And I need to stop this thing so I can cure a Geodude!" "I'll help!" Rogue said, dashing behind the opponent, who seemed to be a deranged Delphox. "Use a fighting type attack!" Birb called. "But that's not very effective!" Rogue replied indignantly. "Just trust me!" Birb replied. Grudgingly, Rogue listened and attacked with Close Combat, which, to her surprise, seemed to do super effective damage.

"What?" Rogue said in shock, "How?" "It's a Lunacur," said Birb, "I can explain it all to you later. After we beat this thing." "Alright," said Rogue, launching a Vacuum Wave at the Delphox, but the effect of the attack seemed to have weakened. "Argh," said the Fletchling, launching an Air Slash, "Take that you scoundrel!" The Delphox turned its cold, heartless eyes on Birb and he muttered some words under his breath the Rogue couldn't repeat without getting a lot of soap in her mouth from Gal. The Delphox then launched a bright pink beam at Birb who as he was flying away screamed, "We're blasting off again!" Rogue then looked in horror as the Delphox turned to her, but she felt weird. What was this feeling? She quickly dodged another attack and then used Crunch? How had she learned Crunch? The attack made the Delphox keel over in pain and faint. "What happened?" Rogue asked and she was answered by Birb saying, "You evolved. Now come on, I need to answer your questions, but not here. How about at my place after we get the Geodude?" As soon as they reached Rio and the Geodude, Rio jumped up in shock. "Rogue?" He asked, "Is that you? And Birb?" "Yep," Rogue said. "Yep," Birb added, "It's me. We have a lot to talk about. We're heading to my house. Grab the Geodude."
