what's pikachu's baby form?
We all know that Pikachu evolves into Raichu. But what's Pikachu's baby form?
I have heard reasons and words being spread around the world that Pichu is Pikachu's baby form.
What do y'all think?

Then how come Pokémon cards never show what it evolves from? It always says that he is a basic instead of evolution 1 or evolution 1 (I forgot which it was).

yeah it doesn't make sense like that. idk! but i understand it from your point of view. but why wouldnt the put it on the cards just dosent make sense?!?!🤨

Indeed, I could live without the baby Pokemon thing...
Pichu wasn't really needed, but that was early on in the Pokemon franchise... back then, they didn't know the franchise would last as long as it did, so they were experimenting with those baby "mechanics" or whatever.

For whatever reason, the baby pokemon don't count as pre-evolutions to the middle phase, so pokemon like Pikachu and Magmar are labeled as Basic instead of Stage 1. It's pretty confusing tbh…

In gen 1 Pikachu was originally created as a Basic Pokemon that evolved directly into Raichu... Pichu did not existed yet, it was only created later in gen 2 with the new baby breeding/egg mechanic.
So the reason Pikachu remains a Basic Pokemon despite Pichu existing comes down to an offical rule the TCG addded to avoid breaking how the game already worked (the TCG was already a giant success by then)... they established that Pokemon that evolve from Baby Pokemon (like Pichu) are officially classified as Basic.
In other main video games, they decided that Baby Pokemon like Pichu cannot breed. .. they need to evolve first, ensuring that Pikachu remains the functional baseline of that evolution line.
