To get this job you have to replace an existing Gym Leader
And the type you use cannot overlap with the other gym or Elite 4 types of the region

So it depends on the region for me
Kanto: I'd replace Lt. Surge happily. The type I use would be Flying. Open with Fearow, follow with Butterfree, finish with Pidgeoto. That's the team you usually battle. My strong team would be Fearow, Butterfree, Pidgeot, Dragonite, and Charizard.
Johto: I'd replace Chuck and use Fire types. Houndoom, Ninetales, and Arcanine would be the usual team but my strong team would be Houndoom, Ninetales, Arcanine, Flareon, Macargo, and Charizard.
Hoenn: I'd replace Juan (I couldn't replace Wallace, though) as the Final Gym, finally getting my strong team as my usual just at a lower level. I'd use Poison types, my team being Dustox, Roselia (no Roserade yet 😭), Crobat, Tentacruel, Seviper, and Vileplume
Sinnoh: I replace Byron without a second thought (I've never liked him for some reason). I genuinely want Fighting type, but there's already a Fighting type Gym Leader. So I use Flying. Drifblim, Gliscor, Crobat, and Staraptor. My strong team is the same but add Togekiss.
Unova: I'm going based off B2/W2 for my answer since ot's a more modern look at the place. I'd replace Clay and use Ice types. Dellibird, Vanillish, and Beartic is my usual. Strong would have Vanilluxe instead of Vanillish and add Weavile, Mamothswine, and Lapras.
Kalos: Okay, so for this one I'm going to replace Clemont. The only reason why is because he doesn't seem to be a Gym Leader anymore. He's never mentioned in his own city and one woman said that with the Royale thing going on a Gym Leader is no longer needed. So I would fill the role, as Dark type Gym Leader. Houndoom, Pangoro, and Malamar. For my strong team, Houndoom and Malamar would get Mega Stones, I would add Kingambit, Scrafty (with Mega Stone), and Gyrados (with Mega Stone). Yes, there's a lot of Mega Stones but I just want to have the option to use the best Pokémon for the battles.
Alola: Doesn't have Gyms and I don't think Trials count, so can't do anything here
Galar: ABSOLUTELY GORDIE OR ICE TYPE WOMAN!!! I hate both of them so I'll happily take their gym! I think I'll go Poison with Gengar, Galarian Weezing, Garbodor, and G-Max Toxtricity (Amped form). My stronger team will include Galarian Slowking and Galarian Slowbro.
Paldea: I'd happily take Katy, Water type guy, or Tulip out of their gyms. I dislike Water dude, hate Katy, and despise Tulip. I'll take Tulip since I can only choose one. I'll use Fire types with a team of Aramarouge, Ceruledge, Paldean Tauros (Blaze Breed), Scovillain, and Fire-Terra Cylizar. My strong team is the same but add Arcanine.
