Antique Cover Fossil - Incorrect Interaction

Hello,

A day ago, I was playing a deck using Antique Cover Fossil. I had multiple Fossil cards on my Bench. My opponent was playing Dragapult ex and played Team Rocket's Watchtower during their turn.

When my opponent used Phantom Dive, they placed 6 damage counters on an Antique Cover Fossil. This Fossil has an Ability that prevents effects of attacks done to it. However, I believe Team Rocket's Watchtower should have removed its Ability, since the Fossil is a Colorless Pokémon while in play.

This would mean that Team Rocket's Watchtower is not interacting with Antique Cover Fossil (and potentially other Antique Fossils as well). I have not seen a ruling in the official game rules or in the Compendium that says otherwise. Is my assessment of the scenario correct, or is there perhaps a stipulation on Antique Fossil Abilities while they are in play under Team Rocket's Watchtower?

Antique Cover Fossil. It states it acts as a 60hp colourless pokemon. So watchtower will shut off its ability.

Or are you saying that the 6 damage counters got removed by the ability rather than watchtower working? It was not clear from your post

this was technically coded properly as the code for the card would not make it a colorless Pokemon, because it is an item. Team rocket’s watchtower also states colorless Pokemon in play and the cover fossil would be coded as an item. Though yes this is a bug, because it was supposed to act as a Pokemon.
