Jynx intense kiss pitch black

Hi, I’m playing the Jynx from Pitch Black and used the attack Intense Kiss. My opponent then used Banette’s attack, but at the end of the turn Banette wasn’t discarded. Is this a bug, or how exactly does Intense Kiss work?

Banette's Hide 'n' seek:

Prevent all effects of your opponent's Pokémon's attacks and Abilities done to this Pokémon. (Damage is not an effect.)

Being discarded is an effect of an attack.

Banette Hide n Sneak ability shuts down attack effects done to it!! Jynx discard effect never lands on her bruh
