I actually do see why they made that adjustment - being invited to a quick match and suddenly playing ranked for example was pretty inconvenient - but I have to agree with you, anyway. Maybe if all players in the lobby could simply toggle to agree with a map change? I would view that a reasonable compromise of the downsides for both options.
