Let's say Shinies didn't have sparkles whenever you find them. Name me a Pokémon you think who's Shiny would be the most difficult to recognize.

I can guarantee you I know mine will beat yours, but it's a secret (for now) XP

Alolan Vulpix. I straight up didn't know I had caught one until after the fact. I was like... Wait a minute... $-#+7$:7 it's shiny.

I'm partially colourblind, so I find a lot of them hard to spot unless there is a dramatic difference.

Now that Pokémon spawn in the overworld, I am going to need much more pronounced sparkles if I am going to notice them. They should almost be glowing beacons like the terra Pokémon you see sometimes in SV.

I don't particularly care about shinies anyway. If one pops up I'll catch it for the novelty, but I don't go out of my way to hunt or catch them.

Squirtle would be hard to know if it’s a shiny mostly if you don’t see its shell.

Abra is also hard to spot.

    Gengar.
It looks… basically the same! Some shinies have great designs. Great color swap. Others have lame color swaps that just look ugly. Then there's guys like Gengar who are just boring!

Shiny Blissey in SV looks like the normal Blissey in every other game. This is because in SV, all Pokémon colors got more saturated and the shiny was already a desaturated form of the original. In other words, you wouldn't be able to tell until you battled it and the sparkle effects played. It sucks because Chansey has a great and noticeable shiny.
