Things we would like to see added to Pokémon TCG live

Pokémon TCG live is a brilliant addition to the Pokémon TCG but as with most games and apps of today, I feel like it doesn't quite meet my expectations, not to say that it's a bad game, but just that it has potential to be much more, it could become the essential partner app for collectors of the physical cards and players of the physical card game, it already is brilliant for teaching people the rules and how to play Pokémon cards and showing you which cards you need to complete master sets, i learned how to play because of this app having collected the cards in the 90s and never being able to play the game or understanding how it was played, this app enthused me to go out and buy the Pokémon battle academy and has reignited my love for Pokémon cards, and not just because of the beautiful art work but because of the strategy of the game and the abilities of the different Pokémon, anyway enough about that, here is a few ideas to improve the app, they may be dumb ideas they may seem pointless, I don't know, but I'm just putting them out there, feel free to add your own ideas for improvements onto this discussion.

• I would like to see more cards from earlier and older sets right back to the original 90s sets including the ability to play battles with other players using these cards, not only would it be fun to collect them and play them digitally, but it would also be useful to have these older sets and their artwork displayed in the card Dex so collectors can use the app to check against their own physical cards and enable them to see which cards they need, to collect the master sets at home, Pokémon TCG live in my opinion should feature every card available in the real world at least the ones in English to begin with, including all special cards like, Macdonald's variants and event cards so people can truly see the variety of cards and what is available in the real world, maybe even include real world statistics on rarity of the cards, even if the cards are not playable it would still be useful to be able to collect them and view the sets digitally, this app offers a convenient way of checking your collections already.

•a variety of single player missions would be a great addition to the game perhaps there could be regional maps with Ai trainers to battle and gym leaders to defeat to earn badges that are connected with your avatar and visible to your opponents when you enter an online match.

•i would like the ability to use the "card Dex" to filter out the cards that are currently available to use in the standard TCG rules, (and expanded ) so I can cross check against my real world cards and sets more efficiently, I know that the current deck builder filters out which cards you can use and can't use, but the deck builder does not efficiently detail and separate which set the card is from this makes it more complicated and inconvenient building a legal deck at home because you have no idea which set to look for to find the card in and just complicates things altogether.

•more ways of playing Pokémon TCG live mixing up the rules and available cards, including custom made matches with custom rules.

•more avatar items and maybe companion Pokémon to collect and accompany our avatar just for visuals and fun.

•knockout league tournaments, 16 players enter into a table 1v1 the winner stays on the loser is knocked out of the competition, the winners play each other until there is only 2 players left to see who is the best with trophies to collect and win, and display when they enter a match I want to see a proper table of players laid out like in football.

•better deck testing Ai where you can pick the deck you are testing against and select the order of the cards you are playing against and using.

•it would be nice to be able to play the game on my tablet in landscape mode apparently there was an update for this but it doesn't seem to work on my tablet.

•It would be cool if we could view our friends card collections online via their profile.

•a digital rule book would also be a good option to have, I got a rule book with my Pokémon battle academy and it tells me the rules for most of the cards but new cards are often added to the game with new rules for these specific cards, a digital rule book that is as clear and illustrated as the Pokémon battle academy rule book would be most welcomed.

• I would like a match that is restricted to using the pre built league decks only no custom decks allowed i know this idea is relative to my earlier bullet point but I thought I would add it anyway.

Thats all I can think of for now, i hope this post helps the creators to see what kind of things we want from this app and gives them some inspiration to make improvements, your opinions comments and ideas are welcome, I hope it's not to much to read, have a nice day 😊

Hey, @Rocker-will! I really enjoyed reading through this. It's clear you've put a lot of thought into not just what you'd like to see in Pokémon TCG Live, but also why you think those features would make the experience better. I especially liked hearing how the app helped you learn the game and sparked your interest in collecting again - that's a pretty awesome journey! We can't promise what the future holds, but thoughtful posts like this are always appreciated, and we've shared your feedback with the appropriate team. Thanks for taking the time to put it all together!

Sorry, you lost me right there in the first sentence with "...TCG live is a brilliant addition...", I mean it's great to have it... but it's light years away from being a brilliant addition... couldn't read more… sigh.

I would really like to see an optional basic chat feature added into tcg live. Feature would have ability to turn on or off, obviously, but would be great to talk to people I've friended sometimes before potentially challenging them. Also would be nice to ask players input on the match when I am testing out decks to see from another players perspective. The little sms/text/message look-alike icon on the lefthand side of the screen serves one purpose and that is just to be deceiving lol since it doesn't let you actually send messages despite it's icon being the nearly same icon used universally for actual messaging and never for reactions lol. I've also run into instances where I'm almost certain a glitch or error occured but even after reading through the battle log its impossible to discern what happened Many Times since as soon as the match is over you're removed from the "play area" and cant look at the opponents cards in play. In those cases, being able to chat with the player could have cleared up any questions I had about a move or ability that worked, didnt work, was supposed to work, or whatever it may be from my side or theirs.

It would also be nice to see Build & Battle either completely re-imagined with an entire new premise or removed. Users have to spend too much time to barely get anywhere with 'Build & Battle' and thats only if they have more wins than losses and receive a booster pack or two. Then even if players win and get a booster or 2, it does nothing to help players until you start the whole Build & Battle over again lol and 2 booster packs does basically nothing to help you in the grand scheme when you have to build a deck. That's all "best-case scenarios" too. Honestly though, as long as Trainer Trials is around, Build & Battle will always be moot. Other than ranked, Trainer Trials is where the fun and competition is at

    Trainer Trials
is really great and provides much more of a challenge and players can actually develop a plan and deck in Trainer Trials format. I've been spending much more time playing the water type trainer trials this past month or more than I have playing ranked or casual standard format. Its set up perfectly to be highly competitive while giving both players the most even playing field which relies them to develop their own strategy and own decks. The best part about Trainer Trials format is that nobody can just hop on LimitlessTCG and copy/paste the best deck there due to zero actual know-how in creating their own. Players are forced to actually learn how to build their own deck and do so under strict guidelines for each limited Trainer Trials. Deckbuilding is a completely lost art form in 2026 to far too many TCG players. Trainer Trials is honestly my favorite thing about TCG Live. Would love to see some type of TCG Live tournament using Trainer Trials format.

So, thanks for setting up the whole trainer trials in tch live. I love it and play it numerous times a day. I havent even needed to change my deck in weeks. If yall could re-imagine Build & Battle to be as competitive and fun as Trainer Trials it would probably get much more attention.

I would absolutely LOVE more single player stuff. Pocket has a tonnnn of single player missions and would love to see this in TCGlive. Especially considering I have way more fun playing with a 60 card deck ;)
