I'll name Pokemon Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire as my favorite official game

Yeh! Besides the rocket and fusion ones those are overused, but no offense you wouldn’t know, the other ones are cool though

they are so overused by those poketubers who clickbait are in it for the money and hate Chikorita

I ignore the poketubers and invite my friends on discord to stream stuff like Infinite fusions, it becomes a fun group effort
but yes, I can't recommend "Pokemon Reborn" and "Pokemon: The last nurse joy" enough.
Reborn is a looooong game and has multiple difficulties and modes, even a password system to unlock new starts or game changes. The characters are all extremely entertaining and none of the major battles feature a brain dead AI trainer, they will utilize very strong strategies that will make you work for your victories. I am not ashamed to admit that the 3rd gym leader handed me 7 losses in a row…
The last nurse joy is the first actual pokemon game where you don't have those 3 second miracle machines…you have to study the symptoms, get facts, and figure out the best possible cure for the pokemon in question while keeping them calm and relaxed…from a Skitty with a broken tail to a Zweilous that has come down with a case of hypothermia, the answer will not come easy and you'll have to think really hard with the facts you're given.
