Would any of you be interested in trying blood on the clocktower
it’s a very fun social deduction game that you can still play even after you lose your ability it’s basically a better version of werewolf or mafia.
Everyone has a unique role that they are and it could be one of 4 things a townsfolk a good player with an ability that helps town like the empath (each night learn how many of your living players are evil)
There are then outsiders that are good roles that have abilities that make it harder for the good team they play for good but their abilities don’t benefit good for example saint (if you are executed your team loses)
then there is the evil team let’s start off with minions the minions goal is to protect the demon and spread misinformation for example baron (you add 2 extra outsiders into play)
then the final player character is the demon these are basically the werewolf/mafia in werewolf/mafia but they each have a separate ability and is the only character when there is one in play (with a few exceptions) for example imp (each night* pick a player they die, if you pick yourself one of the minions becomes the demon)
Next is a player character which is used for people that have to leave early or come late these are travelers, travelers are an interesting character since they can be good or evil (storytellers choice) everyone knows what travelers in play but not their alignment if the traveler is evil they learn who the demon is but not the minions to get rid of them they have something different then exacution they have something called exile, if you exile a traveler it doesn’t count for your daily execution, for example theif, (each night pick a player their vote counts negatively today)
Next we go to story teller characters which are fabled and lorics let’s start with fabled fabled are characters the story teller can use to keep the game fair and inclusive to those that may need help for example if you are in a group of veterans and you are the only new player the storyteller might want to put a revolutionary or an angel in play (revolutionary is you and a neighboring player are the same alignment you both know which one of you will misregister once) and (angel is who ever is responsible for the death of a new player something bad will happen to them)
next is the lorics they are storyteller characters that make the game more chaotic and fun for example knaves (there are two storytellers one always tells the truth the other always lies once per game the storytellers may swap places)
Now let’s get into some terms that will be important
The grimoire is something the storyteller has that has everybody’s roles and where they sit and any reminder tokens they have (what I use to keep track of certain information) some minions are grim peekers which means they get to see the grim for example spy (each night look at the grimoire, you might register as good, townsfolk, or outsider)
Next is script this is a sheet that has all possible characters that could be in play a script will have to have minimum 22 characters and recommend max 25 characters there will be 13 townsfolk on the script 4-5 outsiders 4-5 minions and 1-4 demons on the script
Next is outsider modification outsider count is determined by the number of players that are in the game where games with 7, 10, and 13 have base 0, 8, 11, and 14 have base 1 and 9, 12, and 15 have base 2 to make the players not meta how many outsiders are in play some characters effect outsider count like fang gu (each night* pick a player they die, the first time you pick an outsider you die and they become the new fang gu, +1 outsider)
Teensyville This is blood on the clocktower game with 5 to 6 players which have different rules to bigger games first off minions and demons don’t learn each other and the demon doesn’t get bluffs also outsider count doesn’t matter that much in teensyville games there is also no private chats in teensyville
Next is poison basically if a player is poisoned they don’t have an ability but they are treated if they do for example poisoner(each night pick a player they are poisoned)
So when a player is poisoned it comes from the evil team if it comes from the good team it’s called drunk that’s why the term droisoned is used a lot if the person that is droisoned learns info their info will be arbitrary and will be used to help the evil team a character that uses drunkenness is the drunk (you think you are a townsfolk but you are really the drunk)
Next is registering some characters may misregister as different characters which they are not for example recluse (you might register as evil, minion, or the demon) it’s pretty simple other characters might see your character or your alignment different from what it is)
Next is madness this is a hard one to explain but basically madness is trying to convince something is true to avoid punishment like for example the mutant (if you are mad that you are an outsider you might be executed) or so you get something that benefits you like the pixie (you start knowing an in play townsfolk, if you are mad as that character you gain their ability when they die)
Next there is fresh this is a fairly new term and only one character uses it which is the loric ventriloquist (if you are mad as a fresh character you might survive execution) fresh means claiming a role that you have not claimed yet
Now that I got some terminology out of the way time to actually explain the game
So first everyone draws their character from the bag (if in person it’s just auto passed out online) and hands it to the storyteller then then look at their script and see what their character does the first thing I do is show the evil team who each other are then show the demon 3 out of play characters which they can safely bluff as I then silently go through the circle waking people to use their abilities or giving them information relating to their abilities I then wake everybody up I announce that there is a demon in town and to go find them then I let everyone break into private chats where they can discuss their info among each other and allow the evil team to communicate and make dastardly plans after a timer you set goes off you may begin the nomination phase during the nomination phase each person may only nominate and get nominated once per day if for example I want to nominate chikorita and they don’t get on the block they are safe for the day to get on the block you need half the votes rounded up if you are on the block that does not mean you are guaranteed to get executed if someone accumulates the same number or more than you they may be put on the block instead if you are alive you can vote as much as you want. After someone is executed we go to the night phase during this phase the demon gets to choose their first target and unlucky it’s you. The night continues as normal and you wake to the disappointment of you being announced as dead but alas this is not the end for you as a dead player you still sleep and wake with the other players and try to solve the demon and some characters even want to die like the ravenkeeper (if you die at night pick a player you learn their character) but if you are dead you lose your ability (with a few exceptions like mentioned above) and you only have one vote for the rest of the game called a ghost vote so use it wisely
Also one last thing if you need any clarification about a role or a mechanic or a rule the storyteller will answer all questions to the best of their ability

if you want to join it’s at 6 UTC every other Saturday next session is the 23rd to not give away time zones) I can probably help you make a character next week after my marketing/physics honors/AP computer science is done
For the pokemon you can choose any except like the unorthodox mons (mythical/legendaries/ultra beast/paradox) every thing else is free game though you might want to avoid alolan vulpix, tinkatink, fennekin, and torchic since other people already have those pokemon as characters
