Attention Trainers,

We want to keep you updated on player-reported bugs and issues that affect Pokémon TCG Live. This isn't a complete list of everything being tracked or worked on, but a list of issues reported here on our forums, online, and through our Support Team.

The Team is working hard to resolve these issues, and we greatly appreciate your patience and continued diligence in reporting issues when they arise!

Incoming Fixes

Gameplay/Battle

  • Fixed an issue where canceling matchmaking in Build & Battle could cause the game to become unresponsive.
  • Fixed an issue where both players could remain on the waiting screen after challenging each other to a match at the same time.

Card Logic

  • Fixed an issue where Voltaic Lightning Energy (PBL #084) could be selected by effects that search the deck for a Basic Lightning Energy card.
  • Fixed an issue where Lumiose City (POR #077) could not be consistently used to put a Basic Pokémon onto the player’s Bench when the opponent’s Bench was full.
  • Fixed an issue where Turtonator’s (POR #017) Shell Spikes Ability could activate when one of the player’s Benched Pokémon was damaged by an opponent’s attack.
  • Fixed an issue where Samurott’s (WHT #023) Torrential Whirlpool Ability allowed the player to select the opponent’s new Active Pokémon.
  • Fixed an issue where Shaymin’s (POR #003) Send Flowers attack could not be used without a Benched Grass-type Pokémon in play.
  • Fixed an issue where Hearthflame Mask Ogerpon’s (DRI #044) Fire Kagura attack did not shuffle the player’s deck after searching it.
  • Fixed an issue where Noivern’s (JTG #128) Tuning Echo Ability did not activate when both players had the same number of cards in their hands.
  • Fixed an issue where Decidueye ex’s (POR #012) Sniper’s Eye Ability did not activate when the opponent had four cards in hand.
  • Fixed an issue where placing Iron Thorns ex (TWM #077) in the Active Spot or on the Bench during setup could prevent its owner from placing their Prize cards, causing the match to become unresponsive for both players.
  • Fixed an issue where certain attacks required the player to select at least one valid target when selecting no targets was allowed.
  • Fixed an issue where certain card effects that attach Energy cards from the deck to a Benched Pokémon could be used by a player who had no Benched Pokémon.

General

  • Fixed an issue where certain card visual effects remained active when the Card Gameplay VFX Accessibility setting was disabled.
  • Fixed an issue where certain menu animations continued playing when the Ambient Animations setting was disabled.
  • Fixed an issue where removed friends could remain visible in the Friends List and cause the game to restart when starting a match with them.
  • Fixed an issue that could prevent players with enough Event Tokens from starting a new Build & Battle run.

Known Issues

Gameplay/Battle

  • Card effects that reparent or attach energy from the Hand display an inaccurate prompt for the opposing Player.
  • Players are occasionally unable to place or move cards after disconnecting from and re-connecting to a network.
  • Test Deck AI may occasionally use cards that are not part of the current legal format when testing a deck in the Standard Deck Manager.
  • Some Battle Log entries, such as the damage source for Parasect's (TEU #7) 'Panic Spores' Ability, display incorrect information.
  • Some cards may occasionally appear flipped, magenta, or with an incorrect texture in instances where the asset has failed to load or the connection is unstable.
    • Restarting the game application can, in some cases, resolve this and result in cards displaying properly.
  • Players are encountering issues such as freezing or disconnections at an increased rate while in matches.

Card Logic

  • Certain card effects that involve taking multiple prize cards and resolve with effects that allow the Player to take an extra prize card, such as Chansey's (MEW #113) 'Lucky Bonus' Ability, cause the 'prize cards taken' counter to increment which affects certain card effects.
  • Glimmora ex's (OBF #123) 'Dust Field' Ability does not activate properly when certain Ability suppression effects are active and are being actively suppressed, such as with Stealthy Hood (UNB #186) on the playmat.
  • Jumpluff's (EVS #004) 'Fluffy Barrage' Ability bypasses attack suppression effects when Jumpluff has access to other attacks through certain attachments, such as Technical Machine: Blindside (PAR #176).
  • Players who take an extra turn via an attack effect, such as Origin Forme Dialga VSTAR's (ASR #114) 'Star Chronos’ attack, and are subsequently KO'd by another attack along with the opposing Player's active Pokémon do not promote their Pokémon to the active spot in the correct order.
  • Special Energy with restrictions, such as Impact Energy (CRE #157), that are attached to Pokémon through an attack or Ability that does not match that restriction, are discarded before any opposing effects that are related to energy attachment activate.

General

  • Players often do not receive notifications when a User disconnects and/or reconnects from a match.
  • Players cannot exit the client or change to Windowed mode on landscape devices without using keyboard shortcuts during login, loading screens or in a match.
  • Players occasionally experience duplicate account issues when migrating or redeeming codes within Pokémon TCG Live.
  • Players may occasionally encounter purchase errors within the Battle Pass when using Trainer Points, as well as and when using Trade Credits in the Deck Manager.
  • Occasionally, when reaching different Prestige tiers, the Ranked Ladder emblem will disappear next to the Player's name in the Profile page.
  • Players are occasionally met erroneously with an insufficient funds message when attempting to start a new Build & Battle Mode run.
