Pokemon Champions Underwhelming Options on Launch
I wanted to make my first post here in some hope, somehow, that someone behind the games willing to listen will see it. I started playing Pokemon Champions last night as many other players did, and similarly to so many others I was very disappointed with the decisions made.
I know this is a live service game and some things will be added back soon enough, but the issue is the clarity between the company and the player. We should have known that the first month would be as watered down as it is, if that was the case the release wouldn’t be as big as a deal. Even outside of that there is some changes that I can only see hurting VGC going forward.
- Random ability copying with trace
- Random Mega Evolution order
- The many, many nerfs from the ZA movesets, some to Pokemon that do not stand a fighting chance against the current metagame outside of this format.
And once again, most of these issues would be rectified by being told what is/isn’t able to change what is/isn’t coming back…
I would touch on the odd choices for new Mega Evolution abilities, but I know good and well that abilities are not something they allow to be changed so frequently. I am a lifelong Pokemon fan and I desperately want this game to be as great asit can be. I will continue playing as I would truly like to go to a championship at some point, but we need TPCi/ILCA to be clear with us. Communication is possible and we are trying to speak out about what we do and do not like.
