The only sense I can make out of the change: they changed it to make sure that you don’t get invited for a particular type of battle but then get it switched on you at the last minute? I’ve had that happen a couple times where I’m invited to do a ranked battle, but then they quickly switch it to a quick battle or some casual battle and press start. I know how to stop the search as a lobby member, but it seems a lot of ppl do not know how. I’ve also noticed that people don’t seem to know how to accept requests to be added to the lobby or to invite you to their lobby when you’re already in a lobby. Every time I do this when someone’s already in a lobby, they leave their own lobby and then wait for me to invite them again. It’s quite the process 😅

Or perhaps because it used to save your last lobby setup and if you only just hopped online and invited a friends from the Home Screen, it invites them to the last type of game you played. So, your request gets rejected because your Ranked buddies don’t want to play that Quick Battle that you queued last night before bed to get the rewards.

That’s the only reason I can think of for why they changed it.

We still don't like it. 😕

Yep, pressing the "x" button should be pretty self-explanatory. It has happened to me too a few times where they switch it on me, and then almost immediately go to pick pokemon stage.... But I would still rather have the choice in lobby.

Yeah, to get the proper lobby going, I now have to select a match via the match type screen, then get out of that lobby, then go back into profile menu, select Unite Squad, then create a lobby, then invite members and friends. It's another step and delay where I might miss friends who, during that time, start a new match on their own.

Once the team is in lobby and has played a round of whatever we started with, we should be able to switch to a new game type. A good leader will ask first before starting a different match type, either via chat for those of us who have it or using the Slowbro question sticker for those that can't, then wait for a response of Yes! Pikachu sticker or other chat message. That's what we do. And did. Common courtesy. 🙂
