TCG Live: I always get error 42055 when challenging a friend

It's been this way since I started playing a few months ago. I even tried using a personal hotspot, so I'm on a different network. I have Verizon FIOS and T-Mobile. Also, I can't buy anything on Pokemon.com because it thinks I'm a bot.

The TCGL error's never happened to me, and it sounds like it's a problem with device compatibility. Have you seen the TCGL website? It's crazy how strict the device requirements are! Also, on the Pokémon Center shop site, do you see CloudFlare or ReCaptcha prompts? If you have an admin, restrictions in place may cause these prompts may be blocked. If that's not the case, try taking a look at your cookies.

Ooh, it sounds like you can help me. Please read on:

No I cannot ever use Pokemon Center. Once I get through the queue they think I'm a bot and kick me out. This has happened every time since I started trying in December. I do get the initial captcha stuff and am successful. Sometimes they give me 3 of the same kind.

This is my own Mac in my house. I have Verizon Fios WIFI.

I use Chrome. I've tried normal and incognito mode.

I just wish support would tell me what error 42055 means.

In Pokémon Center, you should try clearing your cookies for that site. I'm a fellow Chrome user, so if you don't know how to clear them, you need to click on the icon in between the URL box and the "reload" and/or "home" icons. When you see a drop-down menu, click "Cookies and site data", and it should be easy to spot what needs to be deleted. If you're not sure what needs to go, try deleting them all. Note that you may need to sign in again (if you use an account to buy things), or re-enter payment info.

As for the TCGL error, I looked it up, and (GOOD NEWS!), you're not the only one having a problem. It's been reported by SEVERAL people. I have attached links to two Google searches that are based on what you're dealing with. If these searches don't hold the key to fixing this, I don't know if there's anything more I can do on my end. It's my network. I use incognito mode with Pokemon Center.

And those searches turn up stuff I've posted myself in the past :)

I was able to successfully challenge someone for the first time in 6 months when I started playing!!

I don't know what changed, but maybe a long-standing bug was fixed.
