Smash Bros Story Part 4
SHADOW
Chaos Control.
At least his chaos still worked. Thankfully, he’d had an emerald on hand when that vortex appeared. Shadow had tried to close it, but that would’ve taken the power of Super Shadow… at least. The world around him was… odd. Mushrooms everywhere. Everything was a mushroom, everything smelled like mushrooms, and the little that was not a mushroom was grass and dirt. What a weird world… Shadow started to prepare Chaos Control again to warp away, trying to reach into the Chaos Emerald, but he felt nothing. He felt no weight in his hand either. He turned and saw a weird, green, dinosaur like creature with big eyes, orange shoes, and a red shell. He had something in his white cheek that was suspiciously triangle-shaped.
“Give that back!”
“Yoshi!”
“Spit out my Emerald now, or I’ll take it by force.”
“Yoshi…” the dino spit the Emerald onto the mushroom. Shadow was surprised to see it was not covered in saliva, but he wiped it off anyway. “This is dangerous. Got that?”
“Yoshi!”
“Is that all you can say?” Shadow asked. The dinosaur nodded. Shadow sighed. “Fine then, Yoshi, know the way out of this… mushroom land?”
“Yoshi!”
“Lead the way.”
COSMO
It was dark. Everything was dark.
Is this death? Just… sitting in blackness? Then why does death smell like… dust? Cosmo sneezed. Okay, that is actual dust.
She tried to get up and hit her head on a metal pipe. “Ow!” Her eyes started adjusting, and around her was old tech. Tails would know how to use it, but she didn’t. It looked old, anyway- it probably didn’t work. She heard muttering and shuffling up ahead. She crawled up and called out, “Hello?”
“Howdy!” She squinted and saw a giant yellow flower in a halo of light. Cosmo could tell it was a golden flower. But the strangest thing about it was its face. It was simple- a cartoonish smile and eyes. The flower continued, “I’m Flowey. Flowey the flower!”
“Am I dead?” Cosmo blurted. There was a long silence. The flower coughed. “I hope not. Because if you’re dead, then I’m dead too, and that would stink for both of us. If you don’t mind give my asking… what are you?”
“I’m… a Seedrian. I thought we were the only sentient plants. Actually, I’m not strictly a plant or an animal…”
“Seedrian? …is that a kind of human? Or a kind of monster?”
“I’m some kind of cross between a plant and an animal?”
“…okay.”
“What are you?”
“I’m a flower.”
There’s a very long silence. Both are simply processing what they’ve just heard. Cosmo suddenly reaches and taps on one of Flowey’s petals.
“What was that about?”
“I need to make sure you’re really real.”
She taps his top petal again.
“Um.”
Tap. Tap tap.
“Can you stop that?”
Tap tap tap tap tap tap tap tap tap tap tap tap tap tap-
“Quit that!” Cosmo jumped back. Flowey’s face had momentarily changed to something with hollow eyes and a fanged mouth. Now it was back to normal. He coughed nervously. “Woah! So sorry, I’m not always myself when I’m angry! So can you just… not do that?”
“Sorry. But you’re really a… talking flower… I love flowers…”
“Don’t touch me.”
“You’re sure I’m not dead? Because… I think I’m supposed to be dead.”
“We’re all supposed to be dead. We just have life anyway, because we have the determination to live.”
“…I mean I got… blasted.”
“Ah. That’s a different story.”
KIRBY
Hungry.
Kirby was hungry.
Where was his cake?
He reached to his left.
He reached to his right.
No cake.
Kirby jumped up in panic. No cake?! Now he remembered. His cake had flown into that rift! He needed it back! Else, he would stay super hungry!
He saw a sword in front of him. It was big, red metal, but with a blue, glowy blade.
He ate it.
“Hey! Monado!”
TRIGGER HAPPY
Hmm.
Trigger Happy still had his golden guns. They still had ammo- coins.
He decided all must be well in the world.
“Spyro? Stealth Elf? Master Eon?” He glanced straight at the fourth wall. “Portal Master?” He seemed to become aware of what he was doing and looked at his surroundings. It looked like a circus, super colorful and bright.
Suddenly, blue splattered around him. Blue paint-ink-stuff? He watched as a squid swimmed by in it. “Hello hello hello!”
The squid froze. Then glanced up at Trigger Happy. Long silence. Then the squid abruptly screamed, which sounded like a whole lot of gurgling. Then it assumed a humanoid form, which tentacle hair, and some very fashionable shoes, shorts, and a T-shirt. It’s scream changed from gurgles to very clear words.
“WHAT THE F-”
LUIGI
Luigi slowly inched out of his hiding place. “M-mario?”
“no mario. only me.”
Luigi froze. He slowly turned around. Behind him was a short skeleton in a hoodie with a smile plastered onto his face. His white dot eyes glowed in the dark of the cave. “hey there, human.”
Luigi screeched.
