Raging Bolt Ability Bug – Unable to Switch Pokémon with “X” While Discarding Energy (After 02/17/202

Issue Description

After the February 17, 2026 update, Raging Bolt’s ability is experiencing a critical issue during Energy discard resolution.

Before the update, when selecting a Pokémon to discard Energy from, it was possible to press the “X” button to switch to another Pokémon and continue discarding Energy normally.

Currently, pressing “X” does not allow switching the selected Pokémon. The interface becomes effectively locked on the current selection, preventing proper completion of the ability.

While this occurs, the turn timer continues to run normally. Since the ability cannot be resolved correctly, the timer expires and the turn is automatically forfeited.

This has direct competitive impact: it prevents completing the intended play — including failing to knock out the opponent’s Pokémon — and may result in a loss due to being unable to execute the action before timeout.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Have Raging Bolt in play.
  2. Activate its ability that requires discarding Energy.
  3. Select a Pokémon with attached Energy.
  4. Press “X” to attempt switching to another Pokémon before finishing the discard.
  5. Observe that switching does not occur and the timer continues until the turn ends.

Expected Behavior

  • Player should be able to switch between Pokémon using the “X” button.
  • Energy discard process should resolve normally.
  • The ability should complete without the interface preventing action.

Current Behavior

  • “X” does not switch Pokémon.
  • Ability becomes partially locked.
  • Timer continues running.
  • Turn is lost due to timeout.
  • This may result in a game loss due to inability to knock out the opponent’s Pokémon.

    Great, thanks for the upcoming fix. I had to stop playing Raging Bolt because of it.
