@Candy0_o Recommend you do the rest of it here as opposed to your profile but based on what you have there, a Poliwag Bard is a solid pick. I assume you plan to evolve into Politoed since I don’t think Poliwrath quite fits the role or mold as they say. What Pokémon ability do you want? Got Water Absorb, Damp and Swift Swim(which changes to Drizzle as Politoed). What effect it’ll have in a D&D context I have no idea and maybe DM will let you start with Drizzle. As for your ability rolls, I advise 17 into Charisma(most important stat for Bards), 14 into Constituion(Life is incredibly important), 13 into Dexterity, 12 into Intelligence and Wisdom and 11 into Strength. This will give you +3, +2, +1, +1, +1 and 0 ability modifier to your rolls. Actions in D&D utilize your ability modifiers but which one they use depends on the action or circumstance. The higher the ability roll, the better the odds you’ll get a positive outcome since the ability modifier is added to your D20(20 sided die) roll.
You’ll need to create a name and backstory for your character(who they are and how they became a Bard, etc.) and what type of subclass of Bard you want to be(Dungeon Master can list the options for you and you can pick the one you like). The type of subclass you pick will give you certain proficiencies and abilities. You’ll also have to pick equipment to use, languages and other stuff I can’t think of atm(DM can list them for you).
Btw, since you are a Water Type, I may have a gift for your character. During session 5, I bought Berries. Many of these Berries have little or no use in their current form so I was planning on turning them into Shuckle juice. Yet one Berry I got was a Rindo Berry. It’s of no use to myself or the two Fire Types but it’d certainly be useful to you if we face enemies with Grass attacks. If you manage to finish your character in time, I permit the DM to xfer the Berry over to you. I have 6 other Berries so giving one away isn’t going to hurt me. I bought them to help the group.
@Evolve8eon if you’re interested, start with a Pokémon species and then a D&D class. Then roll four D6(6 sided) die, subtracting the lowest or taking the top three results added together to get a result that ranges from 3 to as much as 18. Do this six times for your character stats of Strength, Dexterity, Constitution, Intelligence, Wisdom and Charisma. How you allocate your scores is based on what D&D class you pick. There are online dice calculators that can help you do these rolls.
@fineasmatei Sessions are Saturday at 18:00 UTC for a couple hours. If you can’t make it on Saturdays, then I appreciate your interest.
