Can you guys fix battle cage?

I keep going into matches and then in like a gardevoir matchup I had battle cage up and it still put damage counters onto their benched frillish which then got transferred onto my active pokemon, I’ve also had a grimmsnarl matchup where the cage stopped damage onto my bench from frosslass but not theirs which just turned into damage against me via more munkidori’s this has been an issue since battle cage came out.

This is how battle cage is supposed to work. The card says it only blocks damage counters placed by your opponent's pokemon. Nothing stops you from putting damage counters on your own pokemon.
