Help me! My Pokémon Red Japanese just suddenly deleted my save file!
Hi guys! I was playing Pokemon Red in Japanese in my Gameboy Pocket. I saved in Team rocket's hideout and I turned off the console, then when I turned on again the GB (like 2 min later) poof, the file was deleted.
Any idea on what I could do to recover the file?

i know this post is a couple months old, but it could be possible that the cartridge’s internal battery died. i’m not sure if it is possible to recover the file, unfortunately since unlike the generation 3 games that are able to save but cannot have clock based events occur, the generation 1 and 2 games rely on the battery to save progress. i’m really sorry that you lost your progress :(

Take it to a shop that does soldering unless you know how to do it yourself from a YouTube video. If you go to a shop that has done the repair before then they might know how to restore a save. Personally if you didn't play for 12+ hours already I would recommend doing it yourself.
