I don't care with respect to nicknames but I rarely, if ever, nickname my Pokémon. Given the approval system here and my luck, you'll likely see this after 30 minutes. I think its prudent to postpone until we get an Alolan Vulpix ready to transfer. The only games that have Alolan Vulpix are Gen 7(it's native game), Let's GO Eevee(where you trade Kanto Vulpix in-game for it) or from Scarlett. I can get Kanto Vulpix right now if I wanted to via Kitakami but the Alolan variant is unfortunately locked until I go to Blueberry Academy and that is the postgame. Not sure if Pokémon GO is possibility but I doubt it.
So given those options, unless you have the aforementioned games above, there is no way for you to get an Alolan Vulpix unless you trade for one yourself. Sword/Shield have Kanto variant since it's paired with old Growlithe/Arcanine like back in the day. Given Galarian variants exist in Sword/Shield, the Alolan variants do not unless traded over(i think… don't own Gen 8). I'll take a few days to think about how to proceed but odds are that unless you can get one, then the Trade is off and I'll have to swap out Alolan Ninetales for another Pokémon altogether or simply run through the game as fast as possible, grab and breed Alolan Vulpix and start a fresh game with it.

Campaign Update: Was planning to face Brassius with an Alolan Vulpix tonight but the Trade hit an unfortunate snag. Whether I'll be able to get one for this inaugural run is TBD and I may have to abandon the plan altogether. Anyways, I salvaged tonight's run by grinding more Pokémon and catching a whole lot more on my way to Levincia to get an Oval Stone. In terms of Evolutions, I got Oinkologne, Jumpluff, Gumshoos, Greedent, Clodsire and Dugtrio tonight. Very close on Gardevoir, Dachsbun, Grafaiai and Golduck(which I'll stop leveling at that point since I'll be 6 levels above Mela's Torkoal.. just have to utilize a different Pokémon for grinding). Also working on Azurill or my first Friendship Pokémon. Taking a bit longer than id like though but then again I haven't done Friendship Evolutions in a LONG time(Gen 2 feels like ages ago…). Figure I'll have to do a few Picnics to get the ball rolling.
As for catches… list is rather long and I might miss a few giving this is coming off of memory. Got Paldean Tauros first, followed by Dunsparce, Komala, Litleo, Teddiursa, Deerling, Magnemite, Tadbulb, Wattrel, Finizen(will be one of the last Pokémon I evolve given it requires Union Circle), Pincurchin, Sandygast, Shellos, 2x Slowpoke, and Mareanie. Tauros are pretty good chunks of XP too but they're fast and hit like a truck with Headbutt.
If the Alolan Vulpix Trade isn't likely to happen, I'll probably replace it with Tinkaton. Steel/Fairy is one of the strongest types in the game, but I really like Ice Types and particularly when I don't have an Electric type for Larry's E4 squad.

I responded in my profile
Something I said earlier is that Lucario it's best against the champion and I'm not kidding
I'm telling you her team here, so if you don't want to know don't look
She uses Gogoat, Espathra, Avalugg, a Psychic/Water fish (don't remember name), Kingambit, and Glimmora (which she Terras into pure Rock)
Lucario is a Steel type, taking not very effective from Grass moves. Gogoat might know a Fighting move, but I'm not sure. Plus, Lucario can learn Fire Punch, giving you a better advantage.
Espathra is Psychic. Fighting/Steel pairing makes the damage neutral. However, I don't remember any strong attacks with the advantage over Psychic for Lucario, but it's not like you have to use it immediately.
The fish, like Espathra, get's neutral damage with Psychic moves. Lucario can also learn Thunder Punch, so it could hold an advantage.
Here's where the advantage starts to get noticeable
Avalugg is an Ice type. Both of Lucario's type holds the advantage. One good hit and Avalugg is out.
Kingambit takes X4 damage from Fighting moves! Not even competition!
Glimmora is Rock/Poison. She Terras it into pure Rock, but it could still use a Poison move. While yes, that seems like Lucario would be invincible, I'd advise Terraing it into Fighting. Glimmora knows Earth Power, so you want to end it quickly with one powerful hit if you don't Terra Fighting.
To me, it looks like a good move set for Lucario in this fight would be Fire Punch, Thunder Punch, Bulk Up, and Close Combat (maybe Drain Punch instead, letting you get more health if it loses any)
Also, giving it a Muscle Band could be smart
Also, Justified incase Kingambit atempts a Dark attack
I'm not telling you how to play the game
Your team
I just know you often talk about wanting to build your team with Pokémon that have advantages over specific people and this one has a huge advantage over the biggest battle
Plus, you can easily change the move set of your Pokémon, so you can use that set for the champion battle and right after use a set you like
When I use Lucario, I give it the moves Meteor Mash, Aura Sphere, Bone Rush, and Dragon Pulse and I don't change it for strategy reasons
But if I were to go in with strategy, this would be a good one
Again, though
You're game, your choice
