as a monk since you just became level 2 you get this thing called Ki
you have these things called Ki points that you can spend they are equal to your current level they replenish during short and long rest
at second level you get 3 Ki skills
Flurry of blows - immediatley after attacking you can spend 1 ki to make two unarmed strikes
Patient Defense - you can spend 1 ki to make a dodge action as a bonus action
Step of the Wind = you can spend 1 ki to take Disengage or dash action as a bonus actus and you jump distance is doubled
you also get unarmored movement
this means that if you are not wearing armor you can move 10 extra feet per turn (speed boost becoming more broken)
