So I'm no Spoiler Blocking.

I'm just going to type.

Also, heads up, I'm not sure how organized this will be. I'm just going to put it as I think of it.

So I completed the main game! This game is now my favorite Pokémon game, as well as highly ranked among all games I play, even outside of Pokémon. I want to talk about my experience.

First of all, I loved the art/graphics! What shocks me about this, though, is I'm not one to actually care about those types of things. I don't care about the graphics unless their blurry and choppy, and unless the art style is just mind-blowing or just flat-out awful then that is never really a big deal to me, either. When I watched the trailers, I didn't see anything special about the art and graphics. I didn't think they were bad, but they weren't worth actually paying attention to. This changed for me literally while I was making my character. I immediately fell in love with it! It looks so good and clean and clear. And when I started playing, none of that changed. Even when I wasn't up close and personal looking at the characters they still looked incredible! Plus, I haven't seen any glitchy-ness or lag. It all runs smoothly and I don't walk through stairs when entering a building. Mind you, I play on just a Switch, and if the Switch 2 graphics have the huge upgrade it claims to have, then I know this game is just stunning!

Something else I want to point out is how well the cutscenes functioned. They all ran perfectly. The mouths didn't seem awkward. The walking animations in them didn't seem weird or like they were just sliding. Everything ran smoothly. In other games I have played the cut scenes aren't like that. There is normally something off about them, so I liked how amazing these felt.

Now I do want to talk about the ending. I'm going to be honest. I was disappointed. When I saw Ange take over Lumios Tower, I got so excited! I thought I was going to make my way to Zygarde, it was going to go 100, we were going to bust into the tower, and I was going to use it as my Pokémon and we were going to climb to the top as hordes of Pokémon and vines chased us, trying to eliminate us. Once we reach the top, we would find Urbain (or Taunie) up there with Eternal Flower Floette, but they are being controlled by the tower, and we must battle and defeat them to stop the monstrosity. Or, me and Zygarde (at 100) would become one somehow and I would get to play as Zygarde and battle Ange Pokkén Tournaments DX style, literally fighting as the Pokémon. Then, due to how close we are from synchronizing, I would Mega Evolve Zygarde and finish it in our new, all-mighty form. It didn't have to be one of those exactly, but something cool and dramatic. Instead I battle plants while Zygarde flies around above me, occasionally using Zygarde for one attack and then continuing against the flowers. Not at all what I wanted. I did enjoy it (probably because I was still in the moment from the prior events, on the high from battling along side everyone against the rogues, which I found very fun), but it was still disappointing. And as cool as Zygarde's cannon with the XYZ flash was, I was also disappointed in Mega Zygarde. I think they should have made the cannon a bit shorter and its body bigger. The Mega just looked odd and it seemed off and unbalanced. However, all the cut scenes leading up to and in this moment had my jaw dropped. Those, at least, were amazing!

AZ's death was spoiled for me. Once by someone here and again the same day by my cousin. I knew it was going to happen. But the way it was performed had me near tears. Actually seeing the effect and how everyone else reacted made it 10x worse! What really hurt, though, was that he was supposed to cook for us. The smile he gave us, along with how excited we were. It broke my heart knowing he wouldn't be here to do it. I'm being serious when I say I almost cried.

As for the characters, I found them very memorable and enjoyable. Everyone was unique and brought something special to the game. Whether it be Canari being an immature people hater, or Ivor being a hilarious muscles for brains, or even Corbeau trying to be bad guy but fails as he always ends up being nice, I'll never forget these trainers. I really liked the MZ Team, though I feel Lida was greatly over-looked we spent a lot of time Urbain and shared many bonding moments with (my favorite character in the game) Naveen, but Lida just felt there. I mean, they gave her a personality and an important role in the game, but we never really got know her. I just feel like they didn't give her enough time and attention.

Something that was a huge let down for me was there was no villain (great job @TheJeffers you called it). Corbeau ended up being someone who takes care of the city using "shady" techniques. Ivor truly just wanted everyone to be as strong as they can so that the Pokémon could live freely with them. Jacinthe is just an annoying, self-centered rich girl. Jett's company (can't remember spelling) really was protecting the city. All this was just an accident that AZ indirectly caused. It's disappointing.

I liked some of the new Megas, but I'll be honest. Some of them felt like they put little to no effort into them. Let's take Mega Stamie as an example. Longer legs is all I noticed. Mega Scolipede only seemed bigger (I'm not even sure if it was) and got a chest plate. Mega Meganium and Feraligatr (I haven't seen Emboar) feels like the developers just looked at them and said "Oh, yeah. You needed something" and gave them something because they had to. The one that disappointed me most was Pyroar. They just combined the two gender's manes and called it a day. When I saw everyone insulting the upcoming Megas I supported Pokémon. Based on what they showed us it looked like they were just continuing to develop the features the Pokémon already had, just like the original Megas did. But after seeing some of them I can kind of understand. However, not all of them are bad. I think some of them are great! Dragonite, Chandelure, and Froslass just to name a few. But the ones that failed failed miserably.

I think the single city environment is amazing! I've never enjoyed exploring the way I did in this game. Most open-worlds I'll explore a lot in the beginning but start getting bored because I don't actually know what to look for and it becomes aimless wandering. It gets stale quick. However, exploring here seems fun to me! I don't actually have to look for the twists and turns. It's all right in front of me. I just have to choose which turn to take first. And what makes the hidden places much more enjoyable is because you get used to the twists and turns being obvious that when you find something actually secret it makes it much more exciting. I'm not sure this made sense but I hope it did. Now then, something I see a lot of people be upset about is they say that it isn't right that in a large city with many buildings, we couldn't actually go into most of the buildings. For the most part that doesn't bother me. I feel like if every building could be explored, it would be overwhelming and I'd do it for a little but after entering and exiting a certain amount of times it would be bland. However, I do think there should have been more real buildings. It would've made it seem more city-like, give the game better interactivity, and made exploring more enjoyable, searching through all the areas for enterable places. It could have made the game better, but I'm not upset that I don't have it.

So obviously the game had areas that could have been done (way) better, but even with that being said I think the game was truly incredible and very enjoyable, easily being what I think is one of the best games ever.

Thanks for taking your time to read this and I hope your experience was as great as mine, maybe even better.
