Frenzied gouging on an dark ex with mega gengar ex on the bench

I knocked out an opponents Charizard ex whilst they had a mega gengar ex on the bench using roaring moon ex’s frenzied gouging which should not have reduced the prizing as it was knocked out by the effect of an attack not by damage
