Recommended Changes for Going First

Going first on Turn 1 does not feel good AT ALL in Pokemon TCG Pocket. I understand there is some luck to it, but if you can only send out a pokemon that requires 2+ energies to attack then you essentially have to wait until Turn 3+ to even attack. By that time, the opponent who goes second can send out a pokemon that can attack from the jump on Turn 1 as long as it only requires 1 energy (keep in mind there are quite a few pokemon who have 1 energy moves that can do 40+ damage per turn (especially Ex moms) with no consequence) and chip away at your pokemon AND set up additional pokemon on the bench to sweep the rest of your bench because you have to spend 3+ turns setting up your active pokemon just to do 1 attack.
I understand going first AND attacking first would be incredibly strong because of all these strong mons (especially Exs) in the game, but I think it would be a pretty healthy and welcome change to at least be able to put 1 energy on my active mon if I get to go first on Turn 1.
If you take Yu-Gi-Oh for example, you can’t attack first but at least you can set down trap and magic cards to defend yourself. In Pokemon TCG Pocket, there are few options to defend yourself from opponents’ attacks. Being able to attach 1 energy to your active mon on Turn 1 would at least give players that go first a fighting chance in matches.
