Ideas for future Trainer Trials

The Trainer Trials Schedule announcement says we can submit ideas for future trials here on the forum, so here are some:
- Meta Shakeup: a regular standard event, but with the 10 or so most popular Pokémon banned, to shake things up. That means for example banning Gardevoir ex, Dragapult ex, Gholdengo ex, Munkidori, etc.
- Deca Duel: your deck must consist of exactly 10 Pokémon, 10 supporters, 10 items, 10 tools, 10 stadium, and 10 energy.
- Rainbow Team: your deck must include at least 1 Pokémon of every type.
- Coinflip Contest: all Pokémon in your deck must have a way to flip coins in their text box. Alternatively: your deck must include at least 20 cards that flip coins (pokémon, trainer, or energy)
- Rulebox Singleton: Pokémon with a rule box are restricted to 1 copy max, everything else is normal.
- Trainer Singleton: Trainer cards are restricted to 1 copy max, everything else is normal.
- Energy Singleton: all energy cards (basic AND special) are restricted to 1 copy max, everything else is normal.
- Ancient vs Future: only Ancient and Future Pokémon are allowed.
- Past, Present and Future: your deck must include at least 5 Ancient Pokémon, 5 Future ones, and 5 without either label.
- Item Lock: your deck can’t contain any item.
- Single Generation: all Pokémon in your deck must come from the same generation. With an expanded card pool to give more choice for older generations.
- Persian Party: your deck must include at least a 3-3 line of Team Rocket's Persian ex. The same idea could be applied to Tatsugiri ex and other such weird cards.
- Metronome Mayhem: your deck must contain at least 6 Pokémon with a metronome attack. So cards like Clefairy TWM, Zoroark WHT Mew ex MEW, Mime Jr. PAF, etc.
- Too much text: Pokémon can’t have more than 2 lines of text per attack/ability.
- Colorless+: only Pokémon without any color in their attack cost are allowed.
- another idea for a Halloween event: only Psychic- and Dark-type Pokémon are allowed. We’d need to ban cards like Gardevoir ex and Munkidori though. Or maybe restrict the card pool to only Pokémon that are ghost-type in the video game? Here too we'd need to ban cards like Gholdengo ex and Dragapult ex.
- Fossil Folly: your deck must include at least 1 of every fossil (and amber). Maybe also restrict the basic Pokémon you can play to only Patrat WHT and Ditto MEW.
- Dragon Dance: non-dragon Pokémon are restricted to 1 copy max and can't have a rule box. Dragon-types don’t have any restriction. We’d need to ban Dragapult ex.
- Stellar Pair: your deck must include exactly 2 stellar tera Pokémon with different names. Your deck can’t contain any other card with a rule box, and other cards are restricted to 2 copies max. Those are the restrictions of the Japanese “Generations Start Decks”, but centered on stellar Pokémon since those have very powerful attacks. Additionally we could do an event where the only decks allowed are the 9 Generations Start Decks, or maybe other pre-constructed decks.
- Little Cup: all Pokemon in your deck must be Basic Pokemon that are able to evolve in the TCG (so no baby Pokémon).
- Middle Stage Focus: all Pokemon in your deck must be stage 1 Pokemon that are able to evolve in the TCG, and their pre-evolutions. We'd need to ban Dipplin TWM and Rocket Porygon2.
- One to Three: your deck can only contain Pokémon without a rule box and Mega Pokémon. That means regular 2-prize Pokémon ex are banned.
I don’t know to what extend the rules of the games can be modified, but here are some ideas:
- You can have 2 stadiums in play. If a 3rd stadium is played then it replaces the oldest one.
- You can only have 4 benched Pokémon. Or reversely you can have up to 6.
- You only start with 4 prize cards. Or reversely you start with 8 (7 if games take too long).
- All Pokémon have a built-in exp share, so whenever a Pokémon is knocked out its controller can move 1 of its energy to another Pokémon.
- Decks must contain 80 cards. Or reversely, we go down to 40 cards.
- You can have up to 5 copies of a card in your deck.
- Only Pokémon with a tool attached can attack.
- Only Pokémon without a rule box can attack.
- If you play a supporter for the turn, you can’t attack that turn.
- Copycat: you can only attack if both players have the same number of cards in hand.
- Win by losing: in order to win you must have your opponent draw all of their prize cards.
