I have no idea, typically the Pokémon designs in each region are quite good but I gotta say the original designs in Red/Blue/Yellow were definitely not that good compared to the sprites in Gold/Silver.

Every generation had its winners and losers. I have to credit gen 1 for introducing the concept of Pokémon in the first place and debuting with such iconic designs that have endured as fan favourites to this day.

Alola probably had the best modern Pokédex. Many of my favourites are from the Alola region, and I like regional forms of preexisting Pokémon more than megas.

My favorite is Sinnoh (spelling may be wrong). I like the majority of the others, but Gen 5 is my favorite. My least favorite would be Black and White. Love the story but the Pokémon ain't the best.

Kalos has my friend Malamar! No other Pokémon could dare even dream of competing with a Pokémon so glorious. It alone boosts Kalos to being the best region of all. And with the new Mega Evolution? Of course it's Kalos! My friend Malamar looks Marvelous!

(It's Kalos because of Delphox, and a lot of other cool Pokémon but mainly Delphox).
