Wonder Pick algorithm discourages rare picks

my boyfriend pulled both a 2 star rainbow and a 2 star full art lantern. He pulled that pack 36 hours ago and he avoided opening packs until the last second. I’ve checked wonder picks constantly to refresh and I’ve gotten 8 packs from him all wrong. What is this bull crap? It seems like I’m actively being prevented or discouraged from getting the 1 good pack he opened.
