Need ideas for a story

This story follows a trainer who sets off on a journey with his friends, encounters a team who is obsessed with making a world a better place (with a sort of ends justify the means mentality), and a champion who has lost his way. eventually mid way through the story it will take a shift from happy go lucky to more reality grounded, exploring themes of desperation, the struggle to see the light in the darkness, the temptation of putting aside morals for glory, and the fear of loss of power.
