[Pokémon TCG Live] Gameplay Experience Disruptions

The team is currently investigating increased player reports related to intermittent disconnections, freezing, and general latency issues that may be impacting the gameplay experience in Pokémon TCG Live.

Let me vent my frustrations at length.

Options

First of all, I absolutely do not understand why the PTCGL development team is wasting time tweaking the economic system and ranked mode—especially the economic system. Over the past few months, the devs have gone completely insane with these adjustments. They introduced a six-month waiting period for crafting newly released rare cards, then inflated daily rewards to an unreasonable extent. After that, they nerfed the conversion rate of Trainer Points into Credits.

The result? All the effort veteran players put into saving up 1,250 Trainer Points over half a month can now be earned in just a single day. But here’s the problem: previously, those 1,250 Trainer Points could be exchanged for 4,000–5,000 Credits. Now, while you can earn that amount of Trainer Points in 1–2 days, their value has plummeted—1,250 Trainer Points are only worth around 1,000 Credits.

So here’s the issue: many longtime PTCGL players have been hoarding Trainer Points for months, even a year or two, and now their stockpiles are practically worthless. This isn’t some rare edge case—it’s a real problem affecting the majority of veteran players. Yes, in a game with no player-to-player trading system, we’re somehow experiencing inflation. The value of Trainer Points has inexplicably dropped by 75%.

The simplest solution would have been to reduce daily rewards and in-game shop prices by the same multiplier (returning them to their original values). That way, the purchasing power of daily rewards would remain unchanged, and veteran players’ Trainer Points wouldn’t lose value. Instead, they chose to let the economic system spiral further out of control, introducing all sorts of hidden economic risks. I genuinely don’t understand their reasoning.

Alright, I might be rambling a bit. At this point, I feel like the dev team prefers working in isolation, completely ignoring player feedback. To this day, they still refuse to enable Expanded format matches between friends—despite how highly requested this feature is. And that ridiculous six-mont

And that ridiculous six-month waiting period for crafting new rare cards? It should either be removed or shortened. Even if newly released cards cost more to craft, at least make them available.

On top of that, player reports and feedback are basically ignored. I once reported an extremely severe bug, and to this day, the official support team has done nothing—no matter how detailed my report was, all I got were template responses. At this point, I’m convinced the support team is just an AI auto-replier.

It’s like the devs operate on a principle of: "We’ll update what we want, and the more players demand something, the more we’ll ignore it." The worse the bug, the less likely they are to fix it. It almost feels like they’re deliberately refusing to implement changes—even if they’re objectively the best options—solely because players suggested them.

I completely agree with your point. A large number of players have quit the game. To make the player base appear larger, they've even flooded the ranked matches with a significant number of AI bots.
