What if we let any of the chosen energy types appear on say, the third or second turn

I.e if you run darkness and water type in a deck, the first two turns can be randomly generated, but the third would allow the choice between either water or darkness. That way multi type energy decks can be a lot more manageable and it would totally throw a wrench into the entire meta thus far and really make things more interesting in my opinion.
