Ideas for the Gen 10 Phenomenon?

So we’ve had Mega Evolution (Gen 6), Z-Moves (Gen 7), Dynamax Battles (Gen 8) and the Terastal phenomenon (Gen 9) - what do you predict will be the next feature for the Gen 10 games?
One idea I’ve had is some sort of “fusion phenomenon”. I don’t know what name to give it, but it will involve a select number of Pokemon that have the ability to fuse with others to create a hybrid species?
A rough example off the top of my head would be Venusaur fusing together with Torterra to create “Venusterra” or fusing Mewtwo and Mew to make Mewthree.. or give them new names. You’d have two members of your team that are compatible and using [insert fusion type device you are given early in the game] you can create something new. There could be a range of options to choose from.. Charizard could fuse with 10 different others and this could once again play with type matchups/dynamics and improve certain stats/create new abilities etc.
Kinda ties in with Kyurem’s ability to fuse with Reshiram and Zekrom with the DNA splicers.. maybe that’s something they expand upon and utilise in the Gen 5 remakes (if that happens further down the line). A bit like Mega Evolution in X/Y but it also has a significant role in the ORAS games.
Of course a potential drawback to this is ruining the designs of some of people’s favourites. They’d have to select Pokemon where it would make sense to put them together or vastly improve its original design. Also I suppose there’s the problem of a smaller team.. if you have 6 Pokemon and 2 can fuse then you only really have a team of 3.. players would have to choose their team members carefully so they can perform a fusion during battle.
Just an idea. Interested to hear what others think? :)

Personally I would prefer that they focus on delivering a quality game rather than having a gimmick for gimmick's sake.
At some point in the series new features stopped becoming new staples of the franchise and became gimmicks, to only resurface for remakes. Things like secret bases, follow Pokémon, and most recently gimmicks like mega-evolution, Z-moves, gigantamax and terastallisation.
I think what the series has needed is something of an audit and return to roots. Not to scrap all the progress and return to the old style, those games had their own issues, too. But a game to define what the core of a Pokémon game really is.
Trim the fat of the series that has stuck around since gen 1, like slow combat with tedious, individual status change messages, and pick the cream of the crop from the new games the features that can really make the franchise as a whole better.
Deliver on that, reset to a degree, and then worry about piling on more gimmicks in a later game.

I don't like the idea of fusion, because I think of Pokémon as living creatures, not tools. I mostly want to see, whatever the new gimmick is, a rival that'll introduce you to it, and it playing a big role in the storyline. That, and don't make it look like my cinderace had an incident with a chandelier falling on his head.

I really like this. Strip it back and capitalise on the core original ideas and principles that made the franchise a success in the first place. With the release of the Switch 2 they should be able to smooth out those battle mechanics, fix the slow turn-based combat etc (although I think the new battle system in Legends Z-A looks fun and interesting).

Better than fusion. It should have to do with a bond between trainer and Pokémon though.

I don't think this is going to be it personally, as they've done a few double type moves (Flying Press)
I think first that it's going to be universal with few special forms, similar to how megas were first all exclusive to certain pokemon then the gimmicks slowly went more universal with less exclusive forms (Z-moves were universal with exclusive Z-Moves, Dynamax only had the special forms be rare and hard to get while being universal, Tera only had two pokemon with special forms, Ogerpon and Terapagos.)
Generally, I think the gimmicks have followed a small pattern, Megas with Stat Changes, Z-Moves with Move Changes, Dynamax with HP Changes, Tera with Type Changes. Things that don't change in battle usually, so I think its going to be another gimmick that changes what is usually unchangingI think the type matchup changing could be interesting but that's too similar to Tera
