Perpetual Poison via Poison Barb

I noticed that if my pokemon gets poisoned by the trainer card Poison Barb, it never gets a check to recover from it during the checkup phase. It only recovers upon returning to the bench. The text of the card doesn't state the effect to be any different from any other source of poison. I'm thinking this is a bug, and maybe the Poison Barb effect is coded differently from the normal poisoned status that allows it to behave differently. If this is intended, then the Poisoned Barb's text should be updated to reflect the intended behavior.

I don't want to be mean but why does people report something as issue before checking for information about intended behavior.

    Check page 15 and 16.

As you already mentioned, Poison Barb in PTCGP works as any other effect of attack that would apply regular Poisoned status, and Poisoned never check for recovery like Asleep or Burned does.

poison does not recover between turns, it stays until you either switch that mon out or use a card that can heal status conditons

Is it possible you're confusing it with the burn condition, which acts similarly but has a coin flip each checkup?

I could have sworn poison had a checkup as well as burn, sleep, and confusion. Maybe there should be a more universal treatment for status effects.
