The monthly reset should be removed. The climb back to arceus is mostly an unenjoyable experience for both experienced players (who gain nothing from demolishing beginners) and beginners (who get demolished).

Important to mention that the ladder rewards are very poor and not worth the effort at all.

The monthly reset should not only be smaller but the rewards should also be much better so that the climb back to Arceus would be a bit less boring…

I agree that the ladder reset disincentivizes playing live since prior progress doesn't influence the reset. If there's only a couple of days left and I'm not close to Arceus I'll choose to do something else. It's a slow and unenjoyable slog every time.

In my opinion the ladder should function either with divisions and player power rankings through an elo system of sorts, can be the current arceus system but maybe different on the gains and loss of points. Make the "climb" a once in a life time thing to have people proof that they can play the game. Have them have a reward in proportion to the climb. Per example a maxed out celebrations through several rewards gotten in their climb to the real league, so they can craft meta decks more easily without losing the freedom to buy older packs. A leaderboard would be fun or things like most played decks to be visible. The climb can be categorized by age as can the player base so it would be fair game all along. If one would go the route of a level system with the current prestige option it would also be nice to be able to see how many times one has prestiged. Option could be that this is considered within what I would call the player journey to more competitive play grounds. Seasonal events like new set releases are nice to be celebrated and are nice to have a pass to work on to see week to week progress into it. The loss of a currency gain method can also be supplemented through a more quest oriented approach. Having the option to keep getting more quests out of a day and thus more variety in played decks, with diminishing returns makes it so it would not be an endless gain system. Make it age bound to see certain things like the leaderboard as is with age restrictions in general regarding internation law and addiction mitigation.
