Is there a way to change the camera that the pc app uses?

Currently I am having issues getting the code reader to work because it continuously tries to default to my Elgato game capture as a camera.
I have tried uninstalling the Elgato and this does solve the problem but there is no way that I can uninstall a vital piece of hardware I use for streaming every time I need to redeem codes.
The pc options have my webcam as the default so I cannot understand why the game is going to a secondary input device that isn't even really a camera.
