Players closing/leaving the app when losing

This has become a significant problem in my experience, enough to seriously affect the quality of gameplay. It's happening more and more: people who see they will lose, rather than conceding or playing it out, simply close or switch out of the app, leaving me to sit and wait for the timeout.
It's bad sportsmanship, annoying, and unfair to the person left to wait. Can we please reduce the away timer at the very least?
Apologies if this has been raised before, but even so, it's worth emphasizing so that the issue is addressed.
