Greninja no turn time limit bug

I was playing a ptcgp battle, and it was my opponents turn. He used water shuriken from his active Greninja, but never targeted it and it times out. From now on, my opponent doesn't do anything. He is still online because I don't see a waiting for opponent to return sign, but doesn't do anything. There was around 14 minutes left on his timer maybe a bit more, and I waited for 12 minutes and finally it said "Battle ended. You were not able to connect within the allowed time. The battle will be counted as a loss."

I don't know what happened. I'm not sure if it was me, but I never saw a "your connection is unstable sign" once.
