Temple of Sinnoh + V Guard Energy

With Temple of Sinnoh in play, it looks like the damage reduction from V Guard Energy is still happening (it shouldn't). I had an Eternatus VMax with a full bench and it only did 250 damage.

    If V Guard Energy we're causing the damage reduction, it would have done 240 damage. Did the opponent have Radiant Gardevoir in play?
