Why are all my opponents AI when I battle and not real players?

Every time I battle in ranked in Pokemon TCG Live my opponent is an AI. Because my opponents are AI, my battle pass quest doesn't work even when I finish the objective in the battle.

It is pretty common to match up with a BOT. There are just not enough active players at the same time and/or there are not enough servers to support match making.

The game wants you to play and there are not enough players to match you against. So you end up with a Bot. It is pretty common.
