Lucky Energy Drawing from bench damage?

Yeah. As above, My Blissey V had 1 Lucky Energy on it, and drew 6 cards. It took damage from a Dragapult Vmax, which proceeded to place 50 damage onto one of my benched Blissey V. From what I can understand, Lucky energy took the first hit from Dragapult onto the Active Blissey as activating it, before then also activating itself for each of the damage counters Dragapult places onto Benched Mon.
