Disappointed by trading

My friend and I have both been premium pass holders since the game started. We play constantly and do every event. For some reason, I have never got a Nidoqueen (not full-art, just the 3-diamond one) nor a Exeggutor EX (4-diamond). He is missing a Nidoking, and a Pidgeot EX.

As we each have extras of the ones the other is missing, we thought that was perfect for trading. No worries, right - a couple quick trades, and we would complete the basic sets.

Well, it turns out we would probably have to destroy almost our entire collection, including the cards we were saving to trade, just to get a single trade. Of basic card, non-premium art, cards. What? How is that considered fair or equal.

Please rethink the trading system - I don't mind the hourglasses, if you really feel you need to restrict it (which does seem a bit weird to me, but whatever) - but making people destroy all of their cards to make one trade is just too much.
