Abilities not working????

I've seen two instances where the passive (active abilities) do not work… resulting in losing a battle…
Aerodactyl is supposed to keep your opponent from being able to evolve and I literally watched battles where my opponent evolved not once but three times in a battle…
what gives?!?! Same with the ability that says no supporter cards are allowed to be used?!?!

Aerodactyl ex ability only prevents evolving the opponent active Pokemon.
The ability that prevents using Supporter cards allows other Trainer cards to be used... for example it allows Item cards to be used.
