Feedback on Genetic Apex SP Emblem Event 1 (win streak event)
I just got the gold emblem after around 20 battles in a little over 2 hours of gameplay. While this is a reasonable amount of time to spend completing an event, and I'm thrilled that pack hourglasses were rewarded just for participating, I found the experience to be stressful. It was frustrating to lose a 4-win streak to an Articuno EX player who flipped 3 heads with Misty. In another streak, I lost because I wasn't able to evolve my basic Pokemon. In the last emblem event, situations like this were fine because I could just move onto the next battle and forget about it; however, losing a win streak in this event made me feel like I was losing significant time and progress.
Overall, I am fine with emblem events, and enjoyed the first one where all you needed was a flat number of wins. I hope that they do not do win streak events like this in the future. If there will be more of these, I hope that the format will change to reward skill and good decision making over luck, as the game feels very RNG-dependent in its current state.
I'm curious to hear about other experiences. How have you felt about the event, and would you like similar events in the future?

When you go "Oh I win/lose" because of a coin flip turn one, it's hard to argue the game isn't extremely RNG for sure;
- ArticunoEx + Misty turn one going 1st
- PikachuEx + 3 base types turn 1 going 2nd
- MoltresEx 3 heads turn 1 to the Other Moltres Ex going 2nd
I agree that a total amount of wins would've been nice, at least until we get an official versus ranking platform or less RNG cards in the next set.

I actually found it easy… it only took me 7 games to get a 5 win streak. But I understand this kind of events can be hard for players that don't have all the top decks or that don't play much PvP.
That said I have mixed feelings about it, it's rewarding when you get it, but it can be frustrating if you have a hard time to get it, but I believe in the end most players will get it.

Easy lol, I just got flipped and slapped for 5 games in a roll. I have played 15 and the best streak I got is 3 atm. Don't try to say "Skill issues" coz I actually played lot of card games. I think eventually I will get a 5 streak but win streak is just a bad idea for a heavily luck based game.

I mean was easy for me, not saying was/is easy for everyone...
I consistently get high win streak daily even outside that event, so wasn't anything new or special to me.
And the fact that you played lot of card games will not help that much to know the current meta and dominate your own deck.
Of course luck will be decisive in some games and mess the win streak, but it will eventually balance out.
I honestly don't think 5 win streak is super hard for players with top decks, that know the meta and dominate their decks… but I understand that for more casual players it can be a pain for sure.
That said, after thinking more about pros and cons, I also agree this kind of win streak events aren't that good for this specific game, but the Wonder Pick events are also high luck based... anyway I would prefer less luck based events too.

I have all the top decks in the game. I have played each of them multiple times before this event and i have to say this event is mind bogglingly stressful to the point where I'm going to quit if I see it again. I have have 5 times where I got a 4 win streak and on the 5th game I absolutely brick while my opponent flips to win. How they thought this would be a good idea after looking at any videos online showing how the top decks are either 1. Majority luck based by using Misty and flipping to win or 2. Highly based on going 2nd to win is beyond me. I have thouroughly enjoyed the game up until now even putting close to $100 into it already but these are the types of events that make the fun dissapear and leave me frustrated and not wanting to spend money anymore. NEVER AGAIN POKEMON POCKET TCG!!!

I agree that the event isn't great, but quitting the game over another event like this it's just cry baby overreacting... are you 5 or what?
Come on it's just a badge that can be replaced by any other and in the future there will be more and better badges, just get over it.

Charizard ex. That’s all I have to say. Rid your world of the Mewtwo ex decks.

I signed in just to chime in but I wholeheartedly agree, this winstreak event is absolutely atrocious; there are exactly 4 cards you can add to a deck to make it more consistent; two pokeballs, two professor Oaks. Anything else you're at the game's mercy. So not only are you fighting coin flips from every deck sans like, Mewtwo or Koga decks, you're fighting your own coin flips unless, again, you play those. You're also fighting your own draws 9/10 times, and if you play any stage 1s or 2s, you're fighting the draws twice as hard trying to get the right piece at the right time. All the while it feels like every other player is getting perfect draws and flips, and they're probably not getting their 5 in a row either because yours is just one of their 5 matches, but it's enough to break your streak so too bad, I guess?
Also if the response to this event is "get over it, it's just luck-based", then WHY HAVE THE EVENT IN THE FIRST PLACE? I'm legit at the same place I started this event just with 2 packs worth of hourglasses and some useless stardust, so what's the point of this over something else? And yeah, the emblem is inconsequential, that's correct. Which is why when/if I even get this event done I will never do one of these events in full again, and i may just not do it to begin with depending on circumstances, because it's more annoying than fun.
I love this app, it's fun to chime in with, and normally the above issues don't matter because you always have next game. Not here, there is no "next game" if you want to be done with it all, and there's nothing you can do to avoid this. It feels like the myth of the guy rolling a boulder uphill.
And for reference, I play Articuno/Greninja because guess what? That's all I have except for Charizard, which is just as bad if not worse about bad draws and coin flips. This was thoroughly unenjoyable, and I hope they at most have 2 more for a round number and then never do this again.
