Showcase visibility

I have ten showcases set to public, but I noticed on my friends account they are only able to see the one set to player's featured (which is in the profile menu, not the binder/display board menus). I want to know if this is the case with other people in the community showcases and if there is any point in having multiple show case items? I have a couple themed showcases, and it is a shame that my friends can't see them.
