Rugged helmet

I had rugged helmet on my active mimikyu v max VS a blissey V
They attacked and my rugged helmet worked 4 times for the 1 attack, letting me put 4 energy back into opponents hand instead of just 1.
Later in the same game it worked as normal. Only difference I can think of is they attached energy from discard the first time. Second time they didn't have energy to attack from discard with Blissey v ' s attack.
I don't have any game log data as not sure how to get that on live.
