Couldn't select my opponent's active Pokemon at all, not even to remove their tool with Lost Vacuum

As mentioned in post title, I couldn’t select the opposing active Pokémon at all. I’m not sure if it started before I played Lost Vacuum or after.
On their previous turn they had a Flutter Mane with Midnight Fluttering in the active. Is it possible that card is breaking more systems than previously understood?
