Why is Mimikyu taking damage from EX?

I don't know why, but when playing rounds today I experienced Mimikyu take damage from EX Pokémon. Am I missing something?

Yes, there are ways for an ex Pokémon to go through Mimikyu ability… They can move it to active and use Cancelling Cologne, or can put damage counters on it, or there are atacks that ignore effects on opponents pokemon like Cornerstone Ogerpon ex.

If you mean V Pokémon too, some also have atacks that ignore effects on opponents pokemon, like Giratina V Shred atack, Regidrago VStar can copy similar atacks.

Btw I assume you mean ex and not EX, if you really mean EX (capital letters) those can atack Mimikyu without any limitation.

Mimikyu Safeguard ability only targets ex and V (V includes VMAX, VSTAR and VUnion)
