and i know this is random but if a card says the defending Pokemon can't attack does that mean all my pokemon?

but the thing i don't like is the story line. in that way i like scarlet and violet better

Violet's was kind of… There were moments were I would realize like twenty seconds later: "…oh. That was supposed to be an emotional slap." Plus, mixing in a Time Machine and a bunch of other weird stuff then telling you 'go do this is whatever order you feel like' made everything a detached mess where I would climb an entire mountain to get to a gym just to discover that gym leader is twice my level, or wander off path and meet some level 50 while my team is 10 at most. Even among "immersive" open world games (which I am generally against), Violet was a big low.

I liked the freedom
It's always annoyed me that I had to stay on a specific path with rare exceptions, so being able to do whatever I wanted felt amazing
Although I do agree
The time machine at the end felt random, like it had to be there to give the game an ending
The rest of the story was great, in my opinion

I am a gen 6 lover…I know, it's amazing someone likes X/Y and OR/AS
But I loved the Kalos region, I loved the new pokemon (Delphox, Aegislash, Goodra, and Sylveon were my favorites), I loved the intro to the fairy typing, and I absolutely loved mega evolution
So going into this, I had alot of excitement as there was never a follow up to X/Y…there was only a shoe-horned side story at the end about Zygarde. X/Y never got the Platinum treatment…even worse was the fact that the Kalosian starters were outshined by the Kanto starters in their own game (figure that one out)
But again, I had alot of excitement going into Z-A
As I play the game and explore Luminois City, it feels like coming home to me, though I am sad to not venture out into Kalos and I will miss pokemon abilities (Mega Aggron not having filter hurts)
I still am wowed by what this game accomplishes
Also…the dude that picks up some lost pokeballs you throw? He is a chad for sure
