Lillipup, Pidove, Mincinno, Skitty, or Glameow sound like good options. Types other than a Normal type or more powerful Pokémon could be dangerous or difficult to deal with.

I would have Smeargle, it's a friendly hound, good at housework and a work of art itself :)
