SwSh has DLC so how would it work to make it into a remake? Would they just make DLC apart of the base game?

It's okay, I'm a big boy. We can each have our own perspectives and disagree. It's not a personal affront.

To its credit SwSh features some of the best music and character designs (though sadly, not characters) in the series. There are Pokémon designs too that I really like. Some of the towns look really nice, if a tad shallow and lacking in NPCs and content. At least you can still enter the buildings (looking at you, Scarlet and Violet!).

But everything else about the game falls apart pretty quickly. Much like its 3DS predecessors, it feels as though they designed a 2D game in a 3D engine, but striped out all the alternative pathways and interesting map design to facilitate the 3D. The only space to make any use of the 3D movement is the wild area (with technology hot off the N64 in a free camera. They even brought the Ocarina of Time trees.), but that is a mess with low resolution textures, pop-in from steps away, and low performance and bugs galore.

The story is largely uneventful and predictable with a villain that is both obvious from the first cutscene (unvoiced, of course, to maintain the true N64 feel) and yet does nothing villainous until the game remembers right before the champion fight that it was supposed to have a villain. I still don't know what the Darkest Day was.

The gameplay continued the trend of dumbing down with the addition of a mandatory exp. share and lacked anything resembling a puzzle. Outside of the wild area, the whole world might as well have been one corridor.

And of course, Dexit. No longer could you "catch 'em all". No longer could you bring all your favourite Pokémon up through the generations from past games. I guess you'll have to keep paying the subscription fee to store them in Pokémon Home, for which we also increased the subscription fee while discontinuing the previous Pokémon Bank software that was supposed to future-proof and store your Pokémon collection. How conveniently profitable.

No, but you see, we don't have the time and resources to make HD models for all the old Pokémon. Even though we already made them for Sun and Moon. Nope. It's all entirely brand new high quality models and animations. Don't look at Sun and Moon's models and compare.

Sword and Shield are the epitome of everything I hate about modern Pokémon. They are rushed, cynical bodge-jobs scrapped together to ensure there is a new Pokémon game on the shelves to buy with little regard for quality. Because they believe the Pokémon name is enough to break sales records. And for now, they are right.

Seeing they announced DLC for a game that hasn't even been released yet, they're probably going to make the DLC seperate from the base game for the remake, just like the original.

I considered telling them that but decided to keep my mouth shut.

I wonder what they think the question is?

I mean if I thought za sounded horrible I would be like, “Yeah let’s try again.”

So I can see your point-of-view. Although I don't agree with certain things, I can understand to an extent. I 100% agree about the lack of open world being disappointing. Only the Wild Area and DLC could you really move in, and even those were limited. After playing the more recent games it is upsetting. Where I disagree is the performance of the game. One of my favorite parts of Sw/Sh is the animations, especially in battle! So many moves had such special and unique animations that, for me, ran and looked so smooth! When playing S/V I tend to find myself longing for those animation efforts. For the story, I can see how that was disappointing but it doesn't bother me. I liked learning about the history of the region, and then the Chairman going crazy to find a solution to a what I think was 1,000,000 years away problem kind of humored me. Although I got so surprised by Rose being evil! Granted in hindsight it was obvious but first time playing I thought it was just his assistant that was evil, doing things behind his back. All in all, though, I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree. I think there were some things that could have been done better, I think it was a great, memorable game.

I may be biased though with it being the first main game Pokémon game I've ever played, second Pokémon game I've played in general, Let's Go being first, but even with that being said there are many things that I think were amazing about the game that can cover for its flaws.

If they're making new Mega Evolutions, that means they should remake X and Y
